Have installed #Wanderer to see if this is something for me to document hiking trails. A couple of versions ago also federation was implemented (as far as I was able to figure out only from other Wanderer instances, might be wrong here). In case you also have a Wanderer account (on whatever instance), you should be able to follow me via @sander@wanderer.spiezmaestro.ch.

As we're getting more into hikes around our new home – and I record tracks of them to also improve #openstreetmap – I've made a #wanderer profile at @gedankenstuecke@trails.tchncs.de to share some nice trails.

It's an open source trail/track sharing platform that's federated thanks to #ActivityPub, so if you can read this post, you can follow my profile there too!

that is except you read this through the bridge to BlueSky, then you're out of luck and should give the actual Fediverse another try 😉

Thank you everyone for the positive response and the great feedback for #wanderer.

To help people find a wanderer server, I created a dedicated page on the website:
https://wanderer.to/servers

If you are running a wanderer instance, please tell me here so I can add you to the list:

wanderer: Decentralized trail database: #wanderer by @flomp is a new, #opensource, #decentralized #trail database where you can upload tracks (or import them from #STRAVA or #Komoot), create or share routes, and connect with communities through #ActivityPub-powered #federation.

In case you missed it, there is now a Fediverse alternative to Strava called Wanderer:

There is a public server list at:

To sign up on a server, click on "Create Account", then "Login", then "Make One".

If you're running your own public Wanderer server you can add it to the list at https://github.com/Flomp/wanderer/discussions/361

Techy people can self-host using instructions at https://wanderer.to/run/installation

@FediTips Great initiative, and the app looks promising! I'm considering running an instance. Anyone knows if there's a plan to develop a mobile app to go along?

@homer77@wanderer.ismus.net Aha!
