Seems that SOMEONE (probably a chipmunk) decided it would be a good idea to get up on the greenhouse bench and start pilfering newly planted corn seeds. Have now replanted missing seeds and covered it all with fleece. ALSO, #BeetBear got all the cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, and butternut squash seeds planted in trays today. We ended up covering all that with fleece, too. And so we progress馃榾

A ten inch tall (25cm), light brown teddy bear in green overalls sits looking directly at the camera. His name is BeetBear. He is holding a beet in his right paw. There is a bunch of beets embroidered on the bib of his overalls. He has a small rake leaning on his right arm. In front of him are three black plastic trays containing a total 16 small seed trays filled with potting mix. Each seed tray has a wooden marker indicating what is planted in each tray. There are 4 trays each of yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash and cucumber. A patch of vegetable garden space can be seen in the window behind him..

The allotment is looking good considering how hot and dry it has been; broad beans (Bartek) and the tall-growing peas (Alderman) are taking off nicely. (See alt text). The ridged ground is where the second early potatoes are planted but they are not through yet. They are Wilja, Nadine and Acoustic.
The onions and garlic are also on schedule (out of shot).
Heartfelt thanks to my wife, who is doing all the hard work this year due to my poor health.
