Things are winding down now, but BeetBear still found veg. to share with the neighbors today. It made our day when a young lady and her grandma stopped by with a thank-you note for us. It's very dry again. We have had no rain since a light shower on 20-Aug. Tomatoes are heavily mulched, so they're ok. Peppers, eggplant and yellow squash seem to be holding up, too. Will probably start to "deconstruct" the corn patch tomorrow. 馃榾

A ten inch tall (25cm), light brown teddy bear in green overalls sits looking directly at the camera. His name is BeetBear. He is holding a beet in his right paw. There is a bunch of beets embroidered on the bib of his overalls. He is sitting on a tote containing about 25 pounds (over 11 kilos) of ripe tomatoes. This is all in a black garden cart with other totes containing yellow squash, zucchini, and eggplant. Messy fern bed in background.

A person's left hand is holding a black and white computer-printed thank you note with assorted vegetable clip-art as decoration.

A person's left hand is holding a handwritten note in blue ink on white paper. Note reads: "Dear neighbor (the farmer), Every summer during the past 13 years that I have lived in this neighborhood, my grandchildren and I look forward to your harvest. Thank you for sharing it with us." signed Anne & grandkids.
