It's been a while coming, but we are now starting to harvest carrots that we planted in April. This variety is "MoonRaker" and they average about 4 or 5 inches in length (100-110 mm). All planted in a pot ~ 18 inches/ 450mm in diameter and 16 inches/ 400mm deep. It took A LOT of watering to keep them happy during the summer heat, but we now will be able to harvest carrots as needed almost to December. 😀

A person's left hand holding back the carrot tops to show the carrots growing in the potting soil in a large, brown pot. Everything is wet as it is raining.

A ten inch tall (25cm), light brown teddy bear in green overalls sits looking directly at the camera. His name is BeetBear. He is holding a beet in his right paw. There is a bunch of beets embroidered on the bib of his overalls. In front of him is a bear-sized red and grey wheelbarrow holding several freshly pulled carrots.

A brown plastic plant pot about 18 inches/450mm in diameter and 16 inches/400mm deep. It is totally packed with mature carrot plants ready for harvest. Pot is set on a low stool to keep it off the ground. Grey sided building in background.
