I often get asked—both here in the U.S. and in Ukraine—why I choose to #volunteer.

….didn't fall in three days as the aggressors expected, I witnessed the incredible courage of everyday citizens rising to defend their home. That moment inspired me to act—whether as an EMT-B or in any way I could—because courage is truly contagious.

Since then, I've focused on supporting local, Ukrainian-led humanitarian groups helping both people and animals. I've been fortunate to contribute in small but meaningful ways:

These days, I stay in touch with my Ukrainian friends and donate CAT 7 tourniquets from the U.S., mailing them directly to contacts from Lviv to Kharkiv who ensure they reach the heroes on the front lines. I’m also currently planning my sixth volunteer trip to Ukraine—because the need hasn’t gone away, and neither has the resolve.
