@iam_jfnklstrm Oh, I totally get that feeling—it’s scary to see things shifting in ways that don’t align with the future you want. 😔 The EU has long been a beacon for privacy, digital rights, and progressive policies, and it’s heartbreaking when it feels like those values are slipping away.

But here’s what gives me hope: The EU has changed for the better before when people demanded it. Think of GDPR—it didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people spoke up, organized, and refused to accept the status quo.

You’re not powerless. The EU does listen when citizens raise their voices—collective action works. If you’re feeling uneasy, now is the perfect time to channel that energy into advocacy. Here’s how you can start:

Take Action:
- Reach out to your MEPs (Members of the European Parliament). They do listen when enough people speak up.
- Share your concerns with friends, family, or online communities. The more voices, the louder the message.
- Join digital rights groups like: European Digital Rights (EDRi) – @edri@mastodon.social

Chaos Computer Club (CCC) – @CCC

La Quadrature du Net – @LaQuadrature

Bits of Freedom – @bitsoffreedom@mastodon.social

Digitalcourage – @digitalcourage

Hermes Center for Transparency and Digital Human Rights – https://www.hermescenter.org/

Panoptykon Foundation – https://panoptykon.org/

Xnet – @X_net

Digitale Gesellschaft –
@digiges - https://digitalegesellschaft.de/ or https://digital.ch/

Open Rights Group – @openrightsgroup

Access Now – https://www.accessnow.org/

Electronic Frontier Finland (Effi) – @effi

Vrijschrift – https://www.vrijschrift.org/

epicenter.works – @epicenterworks@mastodon.epicenter.works

IT-Political Association of Denmark (IT-Pol) – https://itpol.dk/

Remember: The EU has changed for the better before—and it can again. You’re part of a community that cares, and together, we can push for the future we want.

And hey, if it helps: The world is big, and there are always places and communities that share your values. Fight for what you believe in—because every voice matters. But know that no matter what, you have options, and you’re never truly stuck.

What’s one small step you could take today? Maybe drafting a message to your representative?! ✨
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed—just start small. 💙 💛

Do you perchance know of which organization is fighting for these things in Spain? It feels to me that the government of this country is all in on surveillance capitalism and would like to contact whoever is fighting this
