New planter, picked up on sale at the MoMA Design Store in NYC. Evidently there’s little to no demand for these, which surprises me – I love the way it almost refuses the light.

@nileane my wife says that the usual “girl stuff” is generally awful, painful and uncomfortable but nobody talks about it because as a woman you’re just expected to take it. Whereas men act like they’re dying when they have the slightest hint of discomfort (I’m guilty of that 😬)

@mastodonmigration nothing blown up, but is is concerning that they dumped 20 satellites into the ocean after just a 20 min test
Yeah, that was a strange decision. But, actually the booster did crash into the Gulf of Mexico which was not supposed to happen. Integral to their plans is that the boosters fly back and are reused, so this is still a major issue.

@onepict @zzt Yes! The Platner situation is an apt parallel. One of the painful things about it is how little reckoning his former VBNMW hype band are (well, at least visibly) doing with the underlying problems, even now that it's all blown up and blasted shrapnel through their credibility: "what harebrained epistemology and processes led to picking this guy in the first place? How do we not do that? How do we change course as soon as possible if we find out we messed up?"
These are not necessarily questions that require complicated answers. As you point out, a lot of this could have been short-circuited by listening to black people. Also, not using a rushed "lite" version of the vetting process.
