On @pachli (the main way I use Mastodon) it looks like the screenshot in my timeline.

Not boosted, no hashtags, and I don't follow the poster. However on the web interface of Mastodon it does show the linuxmint hashtag, which I do follow, so that explains it. I guess the problem is that #Pachli doesn't show the hashtag for some reason?

@alice For example, your Mastodon client could hide the abuse. I spent months working on exactly this, which is why #Pachli supports hiding notifications and DMs from accounts you don't follow (hide with a warning, or hide completely, more details in https://pachli.app/pachli/2025/02/28/2.10.0-release.html#anti-harassment-controls-for-conversations-private-mentions). I suspect this would have stopped most of the abuse you experienced cold.

That's why #Pachli allows users to block / hide-behind-a-warning notifications and DMs from accounts you don't follow, or are too new (https://pachli.app/pachli/2025/02/28/2.10.0-release.html#anti-harassment-controls-for-conversations-private-mentions).

An API change (https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/33066) would make this easier, but I think people fall into the trap of thinking this all has to be done server-side too often.

The new #Pachli Current implements a suggestion from @blitter, and shows an account's pronouns.

This is a feature from #glitchsoc, also in (at least) @apps and @moshidon.

Pronouns are shown in the "account info" area at the top of each post or notification, so this area has been redesigned slightly. The account's handle now always appears on the second line.

They're also shown when replying to an existing post, the auto-complete popup, and when searching for posts.

I am slightly hesitant about how this changes the UI everywhere, as the more information is displayed the more complex the UI becomes. If you're only going to use them when writing to someone then maybe they should only appear in the "Replying to an existing post" screen?

So I'm going to let #Pachli Current users try this for a couple of weeks and provide feedback before making a decision.

@kgoetz #pachli has drafts. If you write a post and press "Back" you'll be asked if you want to save it as a draft.

All saved drafts can be accessed from the left-hand menu.

Mastodon servers do not support drafts, so these are stored on your device.

I wish my Mastodon clients (official #Mastodon web and #pachli ) supported draft posts (I know about scheduled posts but it's not the same).

@pachli Lost in translation. My answer is marked "vastasi", which is the third person form meaning "he/she/it answered". Works fine with handles, but not so much here. Well, I'm the only one seeing this 😆
