It’s incredible how badly handled multilingual people are on website and apps
My phone is set to Polish, my keyboard in French and my accounts in English, so each time it’s a roulette to know which language I’ll get when opening a new app

“Being in #Oxford today, I popped into the #OxfordUnion to use a room. Glancing through the term card, it’s absolutely vile - and has been consistently so for the two years I’ve been back in the city. It’s a useful, if deeply dispiriting, exercise in reading the people and place. This is where parts of the next ruling class form their opinions and sharpen their instincts. Judging by what they’re platforming, we are not heading for a good time...”
One useful term about this mess […]
Curious spikes in the yen have investors and strategists debating over whether Japanese authorities are trying to stem further weakness in the national currency through smaller operations. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2026/05/16/markets/yen-spikes-traders-warning-shots/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #business #markets #yen #currencies #financeministry

I think that @lauti by @klasse_methode is just using a very restricted subset of RRULE with their own logic internally.
I haven't seen anything using https://schema.org/Schedule in production so far! I haven't searched a lot though!
But I wonder, did your question have any concrete intention?
@linos @blog @lauti @klasse_methode For UI input I'm sure I've only seen a subset of RRULE. I guess it's actually the only possible option. That subset even to how the same rule is produced FREQ=MONTHLY;BYDAY=1MO or FREQ=MONTHLY;BYSETPOS=1;BYDAY=MO for example. But the underlying libraries, of which there are so many now, can usually handle anything thrown at them though?
I had planned to dive into rust next month in some time off but it looks like I'll be doing something else.
@tante Same. It boggles my mind, though, when decisions are -this- tone deaf, counter-productive and just plain weird!
And further, when they just dig in as they are confronted.
@TheBreadmonkey A year? What shops does he use? I could maybe make that last a month for one of us by cutting back a bit, but we spend almost double that per week for all three.
He is a very big plonker
@Sascha
Also brauch nicht ständig Geld überweisen.
@TheBreadmonkey I hate people saying addicting instead of addictive. Oh and “I could care less”. THAT MAKES NO GRAMMATICAL SENSE! (Sorry, I’m in a bad mood)
May your mood improve, you magnificent peacock
Following the recommendations I got, I set up a #NodeBB forum to discuss the projects #Fedilab, #Holos, #CastLab and #Fedle.
Each category federates over #ActivityPub, so you can follow it directly from your Fediverse account: @fedilab, @holos, @castlab, @fedle.
More details: https://forum.fedilab.app/post/2
@apps
I'm a bit confused. When I follow (at)fedilab(at)forum.fedilab.app, shouldn't I get new forum posts boosted or posted in my timeline? Or is it only for mentioning, so that it's visible in the forum?
As a kid, I loved driving around the neighborhood in my father's C5. In a way, it was the first EV I ever drove. The Sinclair ZX-81 was the very first home computer I ever used, so Sir Clive Sinclair definitely had an impact on my life and career.
@bagder Curious as to why, I thought a trailing dot served a specific purpose that is useful?
@larsmb on the Internet, that purpose is lost

This ones leans a bit more into theory and politics than I usually do when writing about the industry, but this moment in time warrants it, I think.
