Why? Because a teacher was trans.
The school board decided after hearing comments not to hire him, even though he already set up his classroom.

English language can be pretty ambiguous and pesky, the current phrasing suggests the platform is only for videos created by you. :)

Yayoi Kusama passed away from multiple organ failure at a hospital in Tokyo on Aug. 14, 2026. She was 97.
The renowned Japanese avant-garde artist was best known for her signature polka dots, pumpkin sculptures and quirky, brightly coloured art installations.
Her museum’s official Instagram page said that she “continued to paint until her final days, never setting aside her brush and remained steadfast in her lifelong belief that love can save the world”.

for example, for me, one aspect of being okay involves knowing I can afford basic needs easily, so when I shop for groceries I don't have to worry about stocking the staples.
@travisfw I'm fortunate enough to be in a wealthy country so the first couple of layers of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is covered, but the rest (incl sleep & health) is a lifetime of fail. After 30+ years of it you start to get the hint.

I've recently "dusted off" my digital #music library that I built up over 15+ years (mostly from iTunes and Amazon Music, plus my long-ago-ripped CD library) before music streaming became the norm and it's been a whole lot fun re-discovering tracks I'd forgot about, actually buying new music (thanks #Qobuz & #Bandcamp for DRM-free lossless #FLAC audio files at reasonable prices).
I discovered the #OpenSubSonic and #Navidrome ecosystems, and now I can stream my *owned* music library from my phone, transcoded dynamically to Opus (the audio format, not the LLM model) which is like the modern and better MP3 format.
If you're looking to escape the big cloud streaming subscription ecosystems and have some tech savviness, definitely check it out.
@tylerb Or, you can leave your library at home on some sort of cheap-ass computer and listen to it via your phone using PlexAmp, which is free for audio.
Les gens qui disent "réchauffement climatique" m'énerve. C'est changement (ou dérèglement) climatique. Dire réchauffement laisse penser qu'il ne s'agit que de cela. Alors que pas du tout.

Je propose officiellement le terme de méchanmatique.
C'est comme réchaumatique, qui vient de la contraction de réchauffement et climatique, mais avec changement, et impliquant qu'on va souffrir méchamment.

Perfiderweise sehen solche Plattformen wie ein Verlag aus, aber bei genauerer Betrachtung nehmen sie diese Rolle offenbar nicht immer ein sondern übernehmen nur Druck und Vertrieb für einen.

Print on demand ist sehr interessant, nur: Sowas wie Lulu ist kein Verlag. Gerade Autor*innen denen es um Renommee, Reichweite und/oder Einkommen geht, begeben sich (leider!) doch immer wieder in die Abhängigkeit von Verlagsmarken.
Beim wissenschaftlichen Publizieren wird seit vielen Jahren aus guten Gründen (aber mit bescheidenem Erfolg) versucht, die Verlagsmarken zu entmachten, Stichwort CoARA.
