@gleick every time I see something like this, I feel like it’s propaganda. They’re planting seeds about AI going rogue so they can nefariously use AI to do the bad things you mentioned. Then, later, they can point back and say “see? We told you AI was going rogue,” so they can try to avoid responsibility.

@xabean It requires Ruby pre-3.0; I'm running it on 2.7.3. With that Ruby version, it works just fine with its specified set of dependencies.

I am planning on tackling a jekyll upgrade at some point though.

Advising citizens to stockpile food and have basic emergency equipment to hand is something other European governments did some time ago…good to see UK playing catch up. But where is the detail?

Quand j'étais enfant, genre primaire/collège, on avaient des manuels scolaires et parfois d'autres livres où y avait à l'arrière en bas ce logo d'un livre traversé par un éclair avec à côté le texte « Le photocopillage tue le livre » : Et moi j'avais pas compris que c'était un truc de propagande contre le partage des livres, je pensais que le « rayon vert » du scanner quand on scannait un livre abîmait réellement l'encre sur les pages des livres et que c'était pour ça qu'y avait ça d'écrit sur les livres !

I didn't play with it much outside of reading some code and being a bit of a crank. Over drawterm the performance isn't going to be great, and iirc there's no texture mapping or anything so the colors seem accurate but really not sure.
