@gleick every time I see something like this, I feel like it’s propaganda. They’re planting seeds about AI going rogue so they can nefariously use AI to do the bad things you mentioned. Then, later, they can point back and say “see? We told you AI was going rogue,” so they can try to avoid responsibility.

Wrong rhetorical style for the fight, I think. So is “permission structure”. Better a phrase with “excuse” or “puppet” in it, something that feels a little rude.
