And in related news:
> Tech companies will be ordered to take down intimate images shared without a victim’s consent within 48 hours, under new laws to protect women and girls from this distressing abuse.
I can't find the text of the proposed amendment, but then I am using my phone while having breakfast, so perhaps not optimal research conditions.
I will be interested to see if this law will protect sex workers, in terms of distribution of their own intimate images by third parties (e.g. some "tube" sites, social media accounts reposting clips), giving them a powerful takedown tool, rather than relying on copyright / DMCA measures.
@stefano Are you going to switch to pkgbase?
@armin not for now. I'll probably start using it on new installations (or I'll just wait for 15.1-RELEASE)
New study: "Our results also show #AI #search surfaces significantly fewer long tail information sources, lower response variety, and significantly more low credibility and right- and center-leaning information sources, compared to traditional search."

aarnet has debian ISOs! but they're not listed on the debian website as a mirror (and weirdly, the aarnet mirror homepage doesn't even list debian)

@decryption I typically go straight to the aarnet mirror for all my iso needs.
(it can lag a bit with OpenBSD snapshots though. For that I use cdn.openbsd.org)

@andybalaam
I started writing a TUI for radicle and my pet project continues on decent pace as well (distributed social network).
Question: why are other world governments not stepping in to prevent Sam Altman from destroying the entire global supply chain for computer components? That seems like it would be a no-brainer economic and political move. Even if you do believe that AI is somehow worth it, then you must still be better off with it not controlled entirely by Sammy
Woooooww @neodb_you is super cool! Now we just need a scrobbler and, ideally, a #Stremio integration and @neodb can become my new and only movie/TV logging and sharing place 💕
UN experts say destruction by Sudan's rebels in el-Fasher in October bears 'hallmarks of genocide'

If everything goes right, by the end of 2026, Trump has lost America, Orbán has lost Hungary, and Putin has lost Ukraine.
Let's do this!
@randahl You forgot : Milei, Meloni, the prez of Chile and some others in central america... The world start to be trumpised... Don't sleep on our pilows!
This looks like stock manipulation:
On February 10, Trump's FDA oddly declined to review Moderna's new flu vaccine. The stock then dropped from 37.95 to 32.22.
Then Moderna announced that this surprising move was "inconsistent with previous written communications" with the FDA, and they were now sorting this out. News then broke that the FDA would now review the vaccine, and sure enough, the stock is now back up.
If someone wanted to earn big on trading Moderna, this is what they would do.
Finalement, c'est facile la politique :
— les écolos sont contre le progrès ;
— les cyclistes sont la cause des violences motorisées ;
— les universitaires sont des obscurantistes ;
— les féministes sont responsables des VSS ;
— les antifas sont les vrai⋅es fachos ;
— l'ignorance, c'est la force :
— la liberté, c'est l'esclavage ;
— la guerre, c'est la paix.

You may have heard that, after England blocked certain Israeli tourists from attending a soccer match, it was found that the intelligence report used as the basis of this decision had LLM hallucinations in it: https://www.theverge.com/news/861668/uk-police-microsoft-copilot-error-mistake
Now the City of Amsterdam is hopping mad because the British police said they also based the decision on intelligence provided by the Amsterdam police after a soccer match that devolved into street violence here. Amsterdam insists they absolutely did not provide confidential intelligence on Israeli tourists to the British police. https://www.at5.nl/artikelen/236951/halsema-maccabi-engeland-politie-amsterdam
So I suppose the question is, did their LLM *hallucinate* the Amsterdam police as a source, or did someone knowingly lie to cover up LLM usage and didn’t think Amsterdam would call them out?
