@andrea Was meinst du mit Activity? 😊 😂

#MarciaMail Readers:
do we like the pop culture, literature and reviews we're getting? Should I continue or go back to only Fine Art?
@CaribenxMarciaX I follow you , but this is the first time I’ve seen anything from you. I know that doesn’t answer your question, but it’s my experience.

Ok, The error was sitting in front of the mobile - so it was ME, changing the wrong settings. 🤣
Now it's working.
sorry for the wrong error.
Special thx for my hoster for pointing me to the correct setting. *shame*
@joergi it's okay, most bugs are really just config or user error, but I am working on making Pixelfed more stable and easier to use.
"U.S. researchers face new restrictions on publishing with foreign collaborators."
https://www.science.org/content/article/u-s-researchers-face-new-restrictions-publishing-foreign-collaborators
"Grants managers at two of the U.S. government’s largest funders of scientific research have recently placed unprecedented limitations on the ability of U.S. scientists to publish with co-authors from other countries, researchers say. Units of the National Institutes of Health (#NIH) are privately directing grantees to request permission in advance for any co-authorship with a scholar affiliated with a foreign institution, even if all the work was done in the United States. #NASA, meanwhile, is reportedly telling some grantees that papers co-authored with researchers in #China may have violated its rules."

The reports may throw cold water on the bets tech’s biggest firms have placed on the technology. While some cling to the promise of an AI “renaissance” or “revolution,” the cost of adoption is proving a stubborn bottleneck. These developments also suggest that the economics of replacing or augmenting human labor with AI may be more complicated than some early forecasts originally implied. That echoes what Bryan Catanzaro, vice president of applied deep learning at Nvidia, recently said in an interview with Axios.
“For my team, the cost of compute is far beyond the costs of the employees,” he said.

@Sascha Und wie entscheidest du dich?
@vschoenleben Baumkuchen, der auf Donauwellen treibt.
So who exactly is going to buy all that shit that all these companies make if they instead of employees pay some AI company*
*"AI" does not exist and can't actually replace employees
https://fortune.com/2026/05/22/microsoft-ai-cost-problem-tokens-agents/
@thomasfuchs that is the main thing.
One company automating people away can be a competitive advantage.
All companies automating people away destroys the demand as nobody has an income to buy anything anymore.
The only solution for this is a market that is driven and bound by social norms and contracts. Like taxing the rich, automation tax or basic income ...
Or only build things that actually have a demand not like "AI" where demand is artificially created after the fact.

If “commercials are the pornography of capitalism,” this is the really hardcore smut. In an ideal society we’d ban all ads, but yeah… capitalism…
@bfuhrman it’s been so obvious for so long. At least people are saying it now rather than, to use your metaphor, “this is a perfectly innocent picture of a cute frolicking puppy, honest to gawd” Like, there are wangs IN the picture

No way. I am shocked. Who, I say who could have seen this coming. Etc etc.
