55% state pensions? The “triple lock” protection in the UK has resulted in the highest level versus full-time earnings in 30 years so arguably the triple lock has been very generous to pensioners versus wage earners (albeit from a pretty low starting position).
That depends on your baseline. The UK state pension is less than the average of the EU27 by around 15%.
The triple lock is there to slowly bring the state pension in line with that of other wealthy countries, rather than the massive cost of bring it to a comparable level with, say, Ireland (which would be an increase of over 50% over today's rate) in a single jump (which would have been unaffordable).
The pension is generous only in comparison to the state pension before the triple lock was introduced.

If Pixelfed added text-only post creation, we would become Threads or Mastodon, which was never the goal.
Many other platforms serve this functionality much better, and if we did support this, it would limit our focus on photo sharing, which has always been our main objective.
Pixelfed is for photos and video. Period.

@mariusor @smallcircles Hi! I'm aware of your FEP. It's too big and it does too much. There's no way to declare support for the whole thing or only part. And it does id string manipulation in an ecosystem where ids are otherwise opaque.
SeekItem allows declaring support for one feature for one collection. It supports a few important user stories, like membership check and last-seen activity, with a very AP-native API.

Perfectly acceptable critique, but I would have liked to see it in the considerations for your document, instead of assuming that you had no idea it existed.
