Especially considering your line "for communities who'd rather shape their tools than be shaped by them", that would be ironic to have your website shaped by a tool.

1/ I had my #CallOfCthulhu moment today in the Museo Castello del Buonconsiglio of #Trento .
The inscription describes this as a "winged eye", but I see this as an "Elder Thing".
My dad had thousands upon thousands of fishing lures, and he would spend hours sorting them. Around 2021~ I started making a "Lure Sorting" game and I abandoned it because I was intimidated by the huge amount of assets.
Now, "sort the clutter" is the hottest genre on Steam.

@emaytch I've had the thought that the reason I want RSS instead of email for so many things is because RSS is a pull-model, where if I stop pulling from a source they can't reach me any more, while in the push-model of email I can't stop somebody from sending me stuff I don't want. so RSS is kind of a continuous opt-in, an explicit consent that can be withdrawn at any time. and I think that's an underappreciated contributing factor to why publishers may hate it, as well
@jamey yeah i definitely think its a big part of it! we've seen how inconvenient bigger companies view opting-in the last few years, and how little they respect that as an option if they're able to circumvent it

@b0rk Not a cryptographer, but I feel like I've got a good conceptual grasp of crypto so maybe not quite the intended audience. For me, keys/passwords have colour: blue for public, red for green. Giving a password feels like extending an arm into an alligator cage. A public key feels like extending a stick instead. I know which I'd rather have bitten off!

I think everyone should have seen this Steve Jobs keynote where he introduced the iBook and Wi-Fi (watch to the end). It's so masterful and just interesting and fun.
Probably zero chance of it but I wish they'd go back to product presentations like that. the current ones are completely to the brim filled with superfluous adjectives and sentences that sound like an LLM was instructed to generate meaningless statements.
Sorry that this video is so potato (does anyone have this in better quality?)
