There is a street in Venice called Calle dei Fabbri, and Google Maps insists that it's called "Per S. Marco".
They almost surely read the signs pointing towards Piazza San Marco and mistook them for the street name. “Per S. Marco” literally means “Towards San Marco”.
As far as I remember, this error has been there for years, and it still is.

(🔷 Sadie - she/her) so, I notice that most fedi software and fedi clients do not translate alt text, content warnings, or (possibly) poll options when the "Translate" button is clicked or tapped (clicking or tapping it only translates the post's body content), which is both a language barrier and an accessibility barrier fedi users often face. I wonder if more fedi software or clients implemented alt text and content warning translation into existing translation facilities (and possibly into word-level mutes as an option a user can enable)?
I know there's probably a barrier to this (since I know it's not implemented already, and some translation options can be costly to operate), but as part of a system who cares about making a safe space for our mutuals and communities around us, I try not to boost unless I know mutuals will understand it, and that includes alt text and CWs. I may ⭐ it to show the author I like it, but that's about it. that is why I decided to ask to see if there were options short of copying and pasting them into a translator by hand, which may violate rules of instances in question (enby.life and the instance the post is from)
Boosts and replies are welcome. If anyone wants to translate this, feel free to translate past the (🔷 Sadie - she/her) and inflect pronouns as needed. Replying with translations is recommended; quoting is fine, but be sure to link it at the end, s everyone can see it (since Mastodon will not accept quotes unless I quoted it myself)!

@Chishiki611 Most clients rely on the server to do the translation. If the server doesn't translate those properties (spoiler, alt. text, etc) the client can't display it.
Mastodon introduced translation support in v4.0.0, but only for the content. Support for spoiler/alt/polls arrived in v4.2.0 (https://docs.joinmastodon.org/entities/Translation/).

(Note: the step counter and bluetooth are localized to the watch. You set it up to be recorded by another app. If that other app breaks privacy and sends telemetry back to some uncontrolled centralized server, then that defeats the purpose. My experience with watches is that once you replace a battery, the watch is no longer water resistant. But maybe that's my ineptitude as an amateur jeweler.
At one point in a busy life I liked the idea of wearing a watch in the shower because that way you can time the shower, and you also don't forget to put it back on.
