All Fantasy and Science Fiction sits on a spectrum between "a wizard did it; I aint gotta explain shit" and "appendix F of the technical manual says the Gorgulplax use ranked choice voting."
Ironically, Star Wars is the latter and modern Star Trek is the former.
I've always considered it,
Science Fantasy: Star Wars. Hit the hyperdrive with a hydrospanner and it whirs back to life.
Science Fiction: Star Trek. A whole episode dedicated to troubleshooting the inner workings of the warp core.
