I’m pretty sure they said “Fuck Netanyahu” as asterisks are notoriously difficult to pronounce. So, just so there’s no confusion, it was “Fuck Netanyahu.”
And I’m sorry for adding uncensored vulgarity to your timelines. In the future, I will endeavour to write it as N********.
@mycorrhiza @adamgreenfield i deeply agree with both of you, and believe that both are possible at the same time. these feeling aren’t mutually exclusive, and in fact can make both more humane and healthy.
@emenel @mycorrhiza Yeah, there it is.
I kind of feel like those who don’t at least occasionally break down and frankly weep for what we’ve done are dead inside, while those who won’t let themselves laugh are handing evil a victory it doesn’t and will never deserve.
No estaban defendiendo Ceuta.

Irish band Kneecap stands with Palestine, curses Netanyahu at Reading festival
Kneecap renews outspoken pro-Palestine stance
Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap used their headline set at the Reading Festival on Sunday to denounce 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and express solidarity with the Palestinian people enduring 'Israeli' military aggression and displacement.
(video via Twitter)
Performing with a Palestinian flag draped over their DJ equipment, the Belfast-based group. comprising Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, addressed the crowd, drawing parallels between Irish anti-colonial history and the current conditions in Palestine.
"It's important to us that we use this platform for what we believe to be right, and some people aren't as lucky right now, and that's our brothers and sisters in Palestine," the band told the audience during the performance.
"As Irish people, we understand displacement, colonialism, and forced starvation of a population that we see right now in Palestine."
The group concluded with curisng Netanyahu, saying "F**** Netanyahu.""

@aeris @pb @Eriatolc Perso j’ai raté le coche parce que j’ai priorisé l’achat d’une maison (quelle idée
).
"Creativity is a process, one that begins with ideation and conception. [...] It feels almost banal to say at this point, but that’s the last place where we want AI intruding. Unbridled human imagination does not need a pair of clumsy, cold hands leading it to water."

Hard agree.
This is not a good look for #Uber. Honestly, they will be easily replaced by less expensive rivals in Nigeria 🇳🇬 (I rarely used Uber when traveling through Nigeria 🇳🇬).

My theory: Uber is struggling (they announce layoffs recently) & they are preparing themselves to be purchased by rivals.
@Vivaldi Thanks. A simple question: is it possible to change your brand’s red into another colour. Red is a warning signal I can‘t have in view all day, I need something calm.
@christianschwaegerl of course! We don't call ourselves "the most customizable browser" for nothing. You can change the theme (browse through thousands of community created themes on themes.vivaldi.net) or create it yourself under Settings > Themes :)

We must not see this as an AI problem at all.
This is an obvious attempt by OpenAI to create regulatory lock-in for AI use, make local, "ungoverned" AI look dangerous, and require people to use AI-as-a-service from a licensed and managed provider, justifying the existence of OpenAI in the first place.
Current frontier models require large clusters of graphics cards with fast memory in the Terabyte range in the first place.
If you improve that by a factor of 100, the same frontier-level capability will run on a desktop machine, with 16 GB to 256 GB of memory and a memory bandwidth in the 256-512 GB/s range – things that already exist and can be bought and run by anyone.
The need for all these data centers, AI-as-a-service subscriptions and the trillions of investment will evaporate. Maybe not completely, but 85% of it.
This happens, at the current rate of improvement, in less than 3 years, because a 100x improvement are three to four 4x improvements and we see these arriving at a rate right now faster than once a year.
This entire discussion is not about responsibility or dangerous AI. It is about securing the reason of existence for OpenAI and Anthropic, killing off open weights models as "dangerous unmanaged AI" and making AI a subscription only model, for safety and security.
@andrewnez no way! guess you’ll have to switch to api keys?
@jezdez I'm not ready to swap yet, I want to keep it free and unrestricted for researchers and tool builders in some form
@Eriatolc@mastodon.xyz @pb@mast.eu.org @breizh@pleroma.breizh.pm Idem ici.
@sintrenton Neocities, en slags fylle-geocities-vakuumet? :D

so induction is something you can actually do without the integers at all, if you can produce an analogous generating function. but i personally think any statement about "infinite" sets is just wrong.
you can reformulate induction over the integers without infinity at all, in the terms:
this statement
S_nholds for anyn \in [1, k],
wherekis a finite bound of arbitrary size.
this is also legitimately useful! asymptotic complexity theory is well-defined in this framework and directly extends to computation with finite memory
and i also just think the extension of the axiom of choice (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axiom_of_choice) to "infinite" sets is ill-defined:
the axiom of choice says that given any collection of non-empty sets, one can identify another set containing one element chosen from each set, even if the collection is infinite.
the "axiom" is in the "infinite". that's just a point you made up and added to the system!
literally!
The axiom of choice was formulated in 1904 by Ernst Zermelo in order to formalize his proof of the well-ordering theorem.[1]
