Bavarian company Isar Aerospace had a successful rocket launch last night and the payload entered orbit! Congratulations! (Around 1:13:00 is the fun part) https://www.youtube.com/live/B3kOeEv_3js?si=4fb92EifD8mf3tAP
@lake no room to host someone, but if you're for some reason coming to Linz and want a recommendation for a harmless, weird place to visit, feel free to let me know.
@kinderstampfer thanks! I don’t think we’ll be in Linz this time tho, our route as it is materializing is vienna>salzburg>graz>vienna (:
@autonomysolidarity feels good comrades
YES! COME ON! IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING!

We’re done posting to Meta.
Sabot’s Facebook and Instagram accounts may remain online for now. A collective decision about whether to delete them entirely has not been made.
But I, personally, have made my own decision: I’m no longer going to spend my time feeding our reporting, organizing work, photographs, graphics, or attention into Meta’s platforms. If other members want to post here they have access and are able to do so. This was not an easy decision and we may return. But for now I think it is important and I hope you follow us off these platforms.
If you’ve followed us here, thank you. Seriously. But this is where our active presence on these platforms ends.
Sabot isn’t going anywhere. We’re publishing more than ever. We just don’t need to keep pouring our work into corporate platforms designed to trap communities inside somebody else’s infrastructure, harvest their attention, and decide which parts of the world they’re permitted to see.
Independent media should have independent infrastructure. Communities should be able to find each other without asking Mark Zuckerberg’s algorithms for permission.
So come find us elsewhere.
Follow Sabot on the federated and independent social web. Follow our Mastodon presence, subscribe directly to sabot.media, use RSS, bookmark the site, share our work directly, or print and distro it.
The internet is much bigger than Facebook and Instagram. It always was.
I’ll see you outside the walls.

...and if you’ve reached your limit... you should know that this too shall pass.
The EU is tackling the issue of youth mental health by focusing on early intervention, creating safer digital spaces, and fighting stigma.

I am grateful to technology-related people for doing their best in pushing me back from technology!
Simultaneously with the occupation's announcement of continued military maneuvers, the relentless shelling and demolition of homes in the Deir al-Balah area has been ongoing since early morning without pause... I hope we don't face our seventh displacement here.

Morirai tu e moriremo tutti, caro Ignazio.

Sometimes there seems to be a belief in some places that #ActivityPub standardization stopped years ago. True, it was in a lull for some time.
But in recent years, it has become quite active again.

Everybody should do this.
When you understand that under capitalism a forest has no value until it's cut down, you begin to understand the root of our ecological crises.
@internetarchive like seriously, what am I supposed to feel here, IA?
you exposed a bunch of kids to a technology that leads to cognitive surrender
it gave them a bunch of fucking useless answers
training it fucked over a bunch of poor people and had a severe environmental cost
the fuck am I supposed to be feeling?
Do not worry about those kids, they already wrote paper about LMs. https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=UNUrWUYAAAAJ&hl=en

Oh and in that conversation the old American lady was suggesting "could the Moon not fix it?" and Tim Curry was explaining some astronomy to her.
@slowe this is a very novel idea that I think is woefully underexplored
We’re delighted to share that our talk: “Sovereignty Is More Than a Server: Public Digital Commons with Bonfire” has been accepted for the Open Source Conference Luxembourg 🎉 !
We’re looking forward to discussing why digital sovereignty requires more than self-hosting and how public digital commons and projects like Bonfire Networks can help build more open, democratic, and resilient digital ecosystems.
If you’re attending, we’d love to meet you, exchange ideas, and learn about what you’re working on.<span class="invisible"> #digitalsovereignty #commons #bonfire

"The U.N. General Assembly has overwhelmingly backed a resolution aimed at changing the way Africa and other regions are represented on world maps.
The "Correct the Map" resolution, introduced by Togo on behalf of the African Group and supported by the African Union, was adopted on Friday by 164 votes to one, with 6 countries abstaining.
The United States was the only country to vote against it."
