It's quite a clever idea! Rather than having to press potentially dirty buttons in a toilet to record your feedback, you can use a gesture instead. Nifty!
Except… Here's how they describe it on their website.
> No specialist hardware. No complex setup. Just plug in a camera-enabled device and you're live.
Oh. Good. A 24/7 video stream live from the loos. What could possibly go wrong with that?
@Edent they could just swap the buttons for foot pedals...
The United Nations have declared that 1.5°c rise or less is unachievable. This does not mean we surrender. Every fraction of a degree hotter means vastly more people suffering and dying, and more of the natural world being destroyed.

Tails up!
@Neurotransmitter I only know Haiku by name – I've never tried using it. Is it ready for hardware installation, and not only as a virtual OS right now?

Once the weather gets cooler, I'll be unstoppable. Unless it gets too cold, then I'll be stoppable again.
@catsalad Having hot flashes in D.C. is highly not recommended.

#OtD 31 Aug 1942 a wildcat general strike broke out in Luxembourg in opposition to the occupying Nazi regime's order to conscript young people into the Nazi army https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/10356/luxembourg-anti-nazi-strike
An important event happened August 31st 1980 in poland! Solidary labor trade movement leading to a free Poland for the people against the Nazi regime.
Dzień Solidarności i Wolności - Solidarity & Freedom Day
August 31st commemorates signing of agreements in 1980 that led Solidarność independent trade union & transition away from communist rule. Testament of resilience & determination of the Polish people in their pursuit of liberty & human rights
In Frankfurt, Germany, the grid is currently so saturated that no new connections will be available until at least the 2030s. There, data centers consume about 41% of the city's electricity. In Dublin, it's double that.
And data center electricity consumption is growing rapidly — it's expected to double by 2030 to about 945 terawatt-hours, around what Japan consumes annually, according to the International Energy Agency.

Solche Dinge.
"One estimate found that when backup generators for all of Virginia's data centers were emitting at just 10% of their permitted level, they could contribute to 14,000 cases of asthma symptoms, more than a dozen deaths and up to $300 million in public health costs a year."

Global divisions, U.S. unilateral actions and rising geopolitical tensions prevent the G20 from functioning as an effective coordinating body. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/editorials/2026/09/04/g20-flounders-again/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #editorials #g20 #us #coldwar #g7 #globaleconomy #china #scottbessent #russia #iran #straitofhormuz #eurozone #satsukikatayama #boj #kazuoueda #ai

These 'G' groups accomplish nothing of note, except to get a lot of high level politicians to a location where they can exchange notes on how to screw the rest of the world without anyone caring.
Maybe it's time they ceased pretending and focus on revamping the UN and moving it to Europe.
Excuse me, when was someone going to tell me about Bilbao?!
This city is STUNNING 🤯🤯
