The agenda of ultra-rich right-wing Catholics in the US has for years now been to make the Catholic church in the US an arm of the Republican party, with the bishops fully cooperating with this, and to attack and undermine Catholic social teaching and its preferential option for the poor.

Until the bishops face their complicity in what Trump is doing, many of us will listen to anything they say with muted attention.

@mekkaokereke honestly I’m with you here. Why not? I do not see how dismantling the structures of white supremacy hurts me.

@lienrag They usually run some vendor customized Linux distribution. Debian Trixie has RISC-V support by default since recently. Unfortunately I hadn't time yet to play around with it.

The laptops are both too slow for daily work, besides writing text or code. For the SBCs it of course depends on what you're trying to achieve. RISC-V devices for general purpose still tend to be slower to much slower than current Intel/AMD/ARM chips and SBCs.

Edit: They most probably all run Doom.

And yes, if you are asking yourself why so many people leave the fediverse after a bit of trying to find out if they like it here or not — this is one of the reasons. The never-ending stream of guys (it's always guys) that have to prove to themselves how smart they are by belittling others through replies on their posts — it's tiring. And new folks typically are a bit frightened to do the obvious thing: Block on first sight. Your timeline, your decision. Embrace the mute and block :)

Also remembering that already back then he was very worried about the manufacturer discontinuing the specific pipes used as raw materials for these creatures and therefore bought several kilometers of piping as reserve in advance, to future proof his project and not having to potentially recalculate/recalibrate all the designs...
