Today I learned that a rice cooker works because of a specially designed magnet that loses its magnetism at just over 100C (Curie point).
When you switch it on, a piece of metal sticks to the magnet, completing the circuit and heating on high. Heat stays on high until all of the water is absorbed or boiled off, at which point the temp rapidly climbs and the magnet drops the switch.

Onderzoeker Petter Törnberg van de Universiteit van Amsterdam stelt dat polarisatie de verkeerde term is. Als universitair hoofddocent Computational Social Science, doet hij onderzoek op het snijvlak van digitale platformen, politiek en de publieke opinie.
Törnbergs verklaring voor de populariteit van de term polarisatie, is dat dit woord een apolitieke lading heeft:
“Met ‘polarisatie’ kan je makkelijk zeggen: het ligt aan beide kanten. En dan hoef je niet de ongemakkelijke stap te zetten om te zeggen: eigenlijk speelt er specifiek iets op politiek rechts.”
Het fenomeen polarisatie heeft drie kenmerken. Törnberg legt stap voor stap uit dat in de praktijk van deze kenmerken geen sprake is, en hoe dit in verschillende democratieën is terug te zien. Welk woord wel van toepassing is? Radicalisering:
“Radicalisering beschrijft de dynamiek waarmee een specifieke beweging antidemocratisch en radicaal wordt. In plaats van het probleem slechts te zien als verhit debat.”"

I still don't have a replacement for #Mullvad. I'm not going to explain why, you should know. If not, you probably also can't advise me.
I've found a few options. The problem with those options is that only one of them have the option to pay with iDeal/Wero (Wero being the new international name). I don't want to put money in an envelop, pay with Paypal or a US creditcard, or pay with a shady crypto currency. But maybe I have no choice. 😢
