Aber was hat die Genossenschaft für einen Zweck und damit verbundenen Rechenbedarf? Wir haben hier z.B. Server, auf denen Bürger:innen E-Mail-, XMPP- und Nextcloud-Accounts angeboten werden, sowie eine Masto-Instanz. Sowas könnte ich mir gut vorstellen, dort zu hosten, aber das ist ja gerade mal eine Kiste, wenn's hochkommt.
Eine Erweiterungsstufe wäre vielleicht, wenn es mit der Digitalisierung gut läuft, eine Git-/Forgejo-Instanz? Ein Jupyterhub bzw. eine Plattform um Genossenschaftsmitgliedern zu ermöglichen, eigene Apps zu hosten?
Eine Genossenschaft, die einen oder mehrere eigene Chatbots oder Suchmaschinen betreibt? Dann erst reden wir ja von zahlreichen Kisten/Nodes und einer substanziellen Nutzung (und dadurch auch Legitimierung) des RZ. Aber ich weiß nicht, ob es wirklich da einen sinnvollen Bedarf gibt?

@jonny I think offline is technically challenging. Having done a few minutes reading on the UK gov legal principles applied in UK (eg non discrimination, impact on vulnerable groups) I think the legal aspect is difficult for businesses, and the potential for reputational damage high.
If it happens here it will have to be to the benefit of customers in vulnerable groups, because that is necessary when offering pricing that affects such groups. It also has to be out in the open.
Look all I’m saying is if this is the 5th lawyer you’ve gone through representing you in front of the Family Court in 3 years, then your problem is almost certainly not your lawyer

Infrastructure “We should own our infrastructure.” A lot of people would instinctively nod in agreement with that statement. Yet who “we” refers to shifts depending on the type of infrastructure. Highways, railways, bridges, and ports require nation-scale efforts. The water supply is usually put into the hands of municipalities. And the desire to own infrastructure goes down to a much smaller level: Owning your home is a dream for many—though such ownership doesn’t necessarily have to be organized on an individual level. Instead, cooperatives or city-owned housing1 can provide similar benefits.

Look, I'm not doing this for bants and likes, which seems to put me at odds with most of the political culture these days. This issue literally keeps me awake at night. How the hell do we get government - which exists above all to protect us from harm - to wake up to the scale of this threat?

Maybe that's good inspiration for how little you can get away with in gameplay mechanics (it ran 30+ years ago on machines with mere megabytes of RAM) while still enabling people to tell stories together. https://mud.fandom.com/wiki/TinyMUD
My undergrad college advisor got it running in the early 2000s, got a room full of high school students to come play it for a day, and roped me and a couple other college students into helping moderate the experience. There was only one kid who we had to banish to a room by himself so he'd quit breaking the things other people were trying to create, so it was arguably a pretty successful day.
