Nepal is paying a devastating price for a climate crisis it did little to create. A catastrophic flood triggered by a Himalayan glacier collapse has killed over 160 people(with hundreds still missing). This is the cruelest face of climate change -> the countries with fewer resources to protect themselves are often the ones hit hardest.

but a few weeks ago i started thinking i got that wrong. i think the inferential model he uses is very basic and clearly derived from his physics background (which is, incredibly, not derogatory) and i think we can do better is all. but it does kind of require me to incorporate matrix multiplication shit and i will simply have to do that later especially because compression is so much more effective with domain expertise guiding it
from the "XTR is ECC but better" paper, an example of the reasoning you absolutely cannot find in ECC papers. note the reference to the MOV embedding (menezes-okamoto-vanstone) -- that's the 1993 paper that identified the issues with supersingular curve computation.
note that instead of relying upon the hardness of discrete log, it's "discrete log within the XTR supergroup", exactly equivalent to the claims made by ECC advocates. i personally don't trust it as much as discrete log but if i can get really small public keys and faster computation while actually understanding that i'm computing in GF(q6) and not GF(q) then i would totally take that offer up
