My kind of café

So for once I tried the Nightjet sleeping car. However I got compartment number 1, located right next to the shower bathroom and most importantly the air conditioning compressor system. Which meant the door and the upper bed were resonating and vibrating all night... 😵‍💫 Imagine sleeping 50cm from a fridge. Ear plugs totally ineffective at these low frequencies.

I know this is an old model, but are train manufacturers not hiring sound engineers? Seems like table stakes for a night train!

The new footbridge at Te Mahia opened yesterday, opening a new range of viewing spots as well as permanently removing the level crossings at the station. We headed up in the early morning to have a look around.

@decryption @BenLeverAU Airport rail diectly benefits westies near any new stations (Niddrie? Airport West? I forget) and... probably the privatised airport and the airlines. Facilitates their climate-destroying expansion. I expect.
