Okay, I'm rusty on winter/snow/ice storm prep (being in SoCal, and having grown up with my parents dealing with snow). I don't have to deal with it, but a kid does (in DC/VA)..
So far I have:
1. Gas up the car
2. Have enough food that you don't have to go shopping for a week, can prepare if there is no power, and water. (ie like a hurricane, but cold?)
3. Make sure to have an ice scraper and maybe a car lock de-icer
4. If you HAVE to make sure to get somewhere, sand for the car (probably not the case here)
5. Warm winter clothing, also so you can wear it inside if power goes out/no heat. Blankets, layers, etc. etc.
Anything I missed or got wrong? Favorite "prep" websites?
