Just FYI, I forgot to mention - my complaining about how web pages don't work in browsers anymore? I solved 95% of my issues by turning off the Privacy Badger extension that I installed a few months ago.
I support EFF and this isn't a complaint against them. I don't have enough current tech knowledge to know, but I imagine it broke things because certain sites were demanding too much data and were getting brutally rebuffed by Privacy Badger. Which is great! That was the idea.
But so many sites I need (for life to function) break when it's on that I regularly have to tell it "not this website". This is frustrating, but like I said, I blame the websites, not EFF. The internet is a mess.
@hollie Argh that’s so annoying! A similar one I’ve experienced (and the thing that made me stop having to use Firefox, years ago): websites that reimplement basic LOGIN FORMS in Javascript that for mysterious reasons doesn’t work in Firefox. If it was any ordinary website I’d have been like "go fuck yourself" but it was my bank 😤
