We need to really stop using the terms "the flu" & "flu like symptoms". One of the things that led to COVID being minimised early on was medical experts liking it to "the flu", meaning influenza. Which unfortunately most people read as "that cold and fever I had for 3 days in January that I called the flu, but probably wasn't actually influenza". Influenza is a deadly disease that kills people every year. It's really nasty. Yet so many of the infections people call "the flu" aren't influenza

Tech providers are responsible for the safety of their products and their safe use. Let us give childhood back to our children.
That is Europe's principle; that is the basis of the Digital Services Act.
If you are serious about this, start regulating platforms.
Instead of subjecting everybody to "verification" processes that lock adolescents out. Processes that merely enable platforms and their "partners" to collect more and more data about #EU citizens, destroying even the tiny bit of privacy that is still left.

I'm taking a new approach for the Pixelfed redesign.
Basically, it's not feasible to replace the whole frontend without spending weeks or months redesigning every component and page and not breaking things.
So I've come up with a plan to gradually phase out bootstrap usage with tailwind and the vue composition API, ensuring the new UI doesn't break things until we have refactored everything, and can update vue and replace webpack with vite.
It may seem slow at first, but it will be worth it!
