I say "Spout2 on Linux" because that's easy to understand, but it doesn't really work like that!
This is native Linux frame sharing using PipeWire, plus a Spout2 to PipeWire bridge that is essentially a Wine/Proton plugin. Spout2 exists only in the "Windows world".

Here is a fundraiser for families at Seward Montessori, a Minneapolis public elementary school. Many families in the neighborhood are sheltering at home, and unable to work and/or get groceries. Parents at the school have organized this fundraiser to help out.

They point out notifications like the classic “There are unused icons on your desktop” as being in the Windows 😜 Hall of Shame™. In 2026, Windows interrupts you to ask if you want to clean up printers you haven’t used in a while. The intent is unclear (which printers?), there are too many choices, and it stays visible until you click an option.
For a good while, Microsoft were limping their way to good UX, and this doc was finally a clear set of guidelines. Now, it feels like they’ve slipped back into the Windows 😜 Hall of Shame™ era, and any good UX they happen to come up with is an accident.

If you are a university technologist or administrator, and you have the ability (political and/or technical) to dump data the university doesn't need, it's time.
That includes students' and employees' races, religions, gender markers (probably including pronouns, and I hate that, we fought so hard for that), countries of origin — anything you aren't *required* to keep needs to go.
You can put counts of those things into a database for reporting purposes, but they can't be tied to individuals.

As I'm studying a Reed-Solomon Codes implementation... I think its useful to discuss the concepts of CRCs & Hamming Codes, since Reed-Solomon appears to refine these ideas! I'll discuss CRCs today.
CRCs can detect most accidental transmission-errors in a digital message.
Mathematicans reason about them as "finite-field polynomial division" to determine how effective they are at this task.
For each bit of the message, shift into the CRC. If the outgoing bit's 1, invert certain bits of the CRC.
Hardware can implement this using a shift-register with a few XOR gates intermingled.
Software prefers to process messages byte-by-byte rather than bit-by-bit so they usually use lookuptables to speed up calculating CRCs.
