When I was a kid, and first discovered all that great Minneapolis TWIN/TONE stuff like The Replacements and Soul Asylum, it got to the point where if I saw a tape or CD on Twin/Tone, I’d buy it no questions asked.
That’s how I discovered Run Westy Run.
Turned out that Green Cat Island was the only RWR album on Twin/Tone, and although I do like the two previous ones that were on SST, this one was (and still is) my favorite.
They never got anywhere near the attention or acclaim as those other Minneapolis bands, but they had a great run, and THIS is their best album for me.
Rock, country, punk, folk… they could do it all. And Green Cat Island is the best representation of that.

If you live in the upper midwest (US) especially Minnesota or Wisconsin (but on their website it says they also do events in Iowa and North Dakota aswell) and you need cheap food, look into ruby's pantry
Ive been struggling pretty bad lately and i just got a whole grocery haul, milk, eggs, bread, chips and drinks and so much more for only $25. If your in a tough spot but do have $25 to spare, its so worth it
They basically take surplus food thats going to be wasted anyways and resell a bunch of it really cheap (a bundle for 25). There arent any income or residency requirements.
Im not associated with them i just want to help people who might be in the same situation as me
