This was captured with a DSLR and a 19mm shifting lens, from a balcony of another building.
It's mostly an exercise in angles and symmetry. The vaguely wedge-shaped dark cloud that appeared overhead, following the lines of the buildings, created a fortuitous moment.
The Waldorf was closed for an extensive renovation shortly after this was made. It only recently re-opened. Many of the rooms have been converted into condo apartments.
The Waldorf-Astoria is perhaps New York's most prominent monument to jazz age luxury and glamor. It's been the traditional residence for US presidents and foreign heads of state when in town (the "presidential suite" was meant rather literally there).
Built over the below-grade railyard of Grand Central Terminal, the hotel was equipped with a private rail siding and platform where guests could park their personal railcars(!). (Andy Warhol once threw a party on the platform.)

Both here and on bsky, I got crypto fans saying "ah ah ah zero knowledge proofs!" These are indeed used in Monero (money laundering coin) and assorted failed money laundering coins!
However, claiming *credit* to cryptocurrency for ZKPs seems implausible.
I'm actually looking into this and I can find shit that isn't proposals for other failed money laundering coins.
Closest a proponent got was, well, cryptocurrency *funded* it. (No examples, just the blank statment.)
So I'm asking those claiming cryptocurrency drove ZK proof research and uses: which papers with which effects and which resulting products are you thinking of? With checkable details. Thanks.

Sascha @pallenberg hat gesagt, dass er demnächst im Peertube erscheint. Sehr begrüßenswert die Videos sehen zu können ohne sich in Googles Welt zu begeben.
Der Haken nur eben, es kommt bei Peertube nix rein. Es ist egal, wieviel der Kanal Mitglieder hat und ob wer kommentiert.
Damit das nicht gleich wieder im Sand verläuft, sollten wir darüber nachdenken, wie man irgendeine Vergütung einspielen könnte.
Frage in dem Zusammenhang, was ist denn aus Flattr geworden?
@wandenwelterer @pallenberg wir müssten eine PeerTube-version mit Möglichkeit für Werbung und gegebenenfalls "paywall" schaffen, um es möglich zu machen für Kreatöre auf PeerTube zu publizieren...
