i'm at roughly 7 years on this very-well-traveled thinkpad, and it gets to be that time again. i am looking for a *small, light* laptop.
i travel soon, so memories of ~2008 netbooks trickle through my mind, though i know we aren't allowed nice things any more.
needs to run:
- debian stable, cleanly
- firefox with some middling-heavy tabs like slack (i know, i know, ugh)
- some containers w/php web apps inside
@brennen The latest time I was buying a laptop was last year, and I got a Framework, but due to their big tent nazi bar stance, I'm not getting another and don't recommend it to others, either. I've started collecting links for when I need a laptop again, hopefully not in several years.

@cjtype HarfBuzz is set in IranNastaliq, a freebie font around on the net. The HarfRust one is Astrolabe, by Khaled Hosny:

We just render the text with the font, move around the glyphs a bit in a graphics editing app for square composition, then feed that to the AI. Eg.
Here's an alternate view of Panoramax, but as seen on a desktop browser, to show a slightly expanded set of informational items on screen
They include the currently approximated street address and a general map overview inset of the surrounding area to other available routes nearby... all with their own photo references.

Racket implements threads for Racket programs without aid from the operating system or Chez Scheme’s threads, so that Racket threads are cooperative from the perspective of C code. Stand-alone Racket uses a few private OS-implemented threads for background tasks, but these OS-implemented threads are never exposed by the Racket API.
i'm also really miffed by the "racket's road to parallelism" section failing to describe when and why racket got the coroutine thread abstraction and what considerations motivated its design
