Okay, it's time . All I can say looking at these numbers is that you all have surpassed expectations so far it's hard to believe! I'm not gonna' lie, I cried a couple times reading these numbers.
Last year the total was about $2600.00.
This year... The grand total with the donation match from @paco @steggy and others, is so far over that it's hard to believe.
#MonsterdonSavesChristmas brought in a mind blowing $12,321.26 for charity this year!

We are here ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between! The FINAL day of #MonsterdonSavesChristmas ! And we're going to send it out with a bang!
Today so far, we've added another $1629.38! Not our highest day yet, but it's about to be! Also, with this additional funding, and the generous matching from @paco , @steggy , and others, we will now absolutely top 10K for this year! UNREAL!! We did it all! But we can still drive that number up, so if you haven't donated and are still intending to, get them in because the drive ends with the credits for Tails from the Crypt tonight!
Today also added a few new charities to the list of charities! We added, Greater Boston Food Bank, The Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant project (BLMP), The Transgender Law Center, and Food Gatherers! As well as personal donations to Kye and QuyetPaws to help them out! You guys do a lot of giving, and it's pretty glorious!
The current total donations are $7,533.60, and that's BEFORE the donation matching! Absolutely astonishing! Way to go! Ane we will be taking donations through the end of Tails from the Crypt! I'll be running a tally during the movie, and if anything big happens posting the bumps! I like this movie, but please, keep me too busy to watch it. 😉
After the movie I'll do a final total, and we'll start the drawing for the giveaways. So stick around and keep an eye out for that!

This week, we're watching Tales From The Crypt (1972), which is streaming free on Tubi and maybe some other places. Just start the movie on time, watch the hashtag, and post along with us! You can just do it: it's free and no one can stop you!
If you don't want to see a bunch of snarky posts about a bad movie, you can mute the hashtag. In the Mastodon web UI, you do this by clicking on the hashtag, selecting the option to mute it, and making a new filter to hide all posts with the hashtag. You'll make the Baby Godzilla cry but it's okay, Godzilla is tough and all. Not even the entire Japanese army, air force, and navy working together can get Godzilla down, not really.

Conditions:
- Each donation will be US $50 (at most... I guess you can ask for less if you want 🤷)
- One donation per person
- Requests must be received before the #Monsterdon movie *starts*
- The receiving charity must be a registered nonprofit (that means 501(c)(3) organizations in the US, or some equivalent elsewhere)
- No political organizations
- No groups that support hate
- I reserve the right to veto any charity if something unanticipated comes up. If this happens I'll let you know and we can an alternate.
