It's not a hybrid war anymore : Russia is ramping up a kinetic war against Europe. From @thestudyofwar

PSA, if your Mastodon server says you cannot add a pixelfed.social account to a collection, try searching the account url, like hxxps://pixelfed.social/dansup?refetch and add that query parameter to force a refetch and it should work fine!
@dansup Awesome!

I had to refetch the Pixelfed account and then it worked.
In an ideal world, I would avoid having to take the Eurostar from Paris, because the staff there are all inconsiderate apart from the Welsh UK border guy. It’s a terrible experience with a walking stick.
Himself does not want to spend a few days getting home in a relaxed manner.
Virtually all routes start by going back to Barcelona. The capital is, it seems, terribly connected.
So, where in France can we get to for an overnight that’s nice? Connections to Lille a bonus. 2/2
@feorag We are doing the Nimes/Lille option both directions in a week or so. There are a bunch of reasonably priced hotels close to the station, including a couple of Ibises.
Today is #OzoneDay. Let's remind ourselves what that means.
In the 1980s, research revealed a huge hole in the ozone layer protecting our planet.
Based on that data, countries universally ratified the Montreal Protocol in 1989 to address the issue.
Subsequently, global use of the substances causing the damage was reduced by 99%. The ozone layer is now on track to completely recover.
Science informed political action which led to global cooperation to fix a global problem.
IT IS POSSIBLE. 🌍💚

Ça fait deux fois en deux jours que des jolies jeunes femmes me donnent presque 10 ans de moins. Que c'est bon pour l'égo !
Mes 40 ans se passent bien, je trouve 🤪
@dada Beau jeune homme 😜
I'm fed up with incomplete, credulous reporting like this. I sent the email below to the four reporters. To other journalists: please Google TESCREAL before you write the next story about these dangerous nutters in charge of the technological future.

Good work, Jeff! Thanks for what can be seen as an urgent Public Service Announcement, as well as a badly needed slap in the face of too-complacent journalists and publishers.
Train tickets are fucking expensive. I'm going to Kent, not the Maldives.
@TheBreadmonkey If they were to offer train tickets to the Maldives at that price, the rail service would be underwater.
Duolingo(*) now shows like a million unskippable, pointless animations and stuff after each lesson. And I'm 99% sure that it's because some awful product manager figured out that this increases "time spent in app" - while of course minimizing actual time spent learning, but who cares for that…
(*) Yes, it's a horrible dumpster fire of a company and useless for anything but learning random vocab
@gedankenstuecke that's a good explanation of that. It's been getting worse and worse over the past 6 months. It's also explains the endless clicks after a session.
Ach, die alten Postkarten. #postcrossing

@decryption @peterrenshaw bingo:
"Scroggie's transformation from a scrawny, shiny-suited antivirus software salesman into a trunk-necked, biohacked, cosplaying tech bro is compelling material.
The comparison with Melbourne health spa proprietor (and personal wealth exaggerator) Tim Gurner is obvious. Both men eschew coloured clothing, adhere strictly to joyless diets and gym routines, and compulsively overshare about them."

@gusseting @peterrenshaw such an incredibly unlikeable guy
@s10n do you mean the Hungary which just defeated Orbán? Or the Poland which defeated PiS? Or Denmark which is on its third centrist government lead by the Social Democrats to keep DF without influence?

Kicking off with: Is there technology without extractivism? @tarakiyee will provide an input and we will break into smaller groups to hear from and exchange ideas with groups involved in fighting extractivism on the ground: chip factories in Dresden, copper mines in Eastern Germany and cobalt mines in Congo. What are strategies to reduce or radically rethink Big Tech’s destructive footprint on our world?

Yes. I absolutely want to oppress the wealthy, and expropriate their wealth. Of course they are free to give over their wealth voluntarily and face no ramifications, but all of history has said that will never happen.
