How to describe this magnificent fungi. It sprouts up from the spiky, redwood leaf litter on a smooth, cream colored stalk - maybe 10-15cm tall (but what do I know as an American 🙄). What was last night a tall, domed cap the same color as the stem transformed overnight into a disk shape ringed with shiny, almost metallic black fronds that curl under. Other gray mushroom anatomy going on inside the ring.
