Your customers hate your use of AI
@danirabbit I've seen so many food trucks utilizing AI for their designs now and it's dissapointing. Conveniently they usually have terrible food so it goes together.
My dentist's office has an AI slop billboard I pass by frequently. I do hate it. Imagine the most generic AI "family" with big, perfect smiles.
@danirabbit Phoned to make a winter tire swap apmt. The AI agent couldn’t understand that my winters were already on rims, so it booked me for a single tire install plus balancing which had to be totally redone via a human phone call. We have been conned.
@danirabbit Anyone who says that “Our customers love our AI chatbots” has clearly not been talking to customers using chatbots.
@danirabbit I got to tell anker / eufy support that recently. I sent them a detailed bug report about one of their products. AI and I got into it for a while, but it was then escalated to a human. When I got the human, I told him that I wanted a refund due to their use of AI for customer service.
@danirabbit it's downright flabbergasting how oblivious so many people are about this. In particular, I would expect smaller business owners to know better. Grossing out potential diners with creepy looking alien food is pretty much the opposite of what a business in a notoriously uncertain industry should be doing!
@danirabbit The extremely offputting generated commercials come to mind. Everybody has the same weird "AI face". Everybody reacts in unison in the exact same way. The language is awkward, stilted, and choppy, as are the plot and setting. The lighting looks all weird and grayish.
I'm left convinced only of my need to never see it again, and to not buy the product so I don't inadvertently help to pay for having that swill put in front of my eyes yet again.
@danirabbit buuuuut I asked 'ai' and it said they would love aimaxxing!?
#ai #ai_slop #aimaxxing
@danirabbit I don't see this point discussed a lot but to me it is the crux of the biscuit.
If you are delivering your product to your customers largely or completely via a public LLM like ChatGPT, no one needs your product at all. They also have access to the LLM and can do it for themselves without your bullshit as overhead. The only possible point of differentiation is if you think you and only you can craft the perfect prompt. Clearly some do think that.
We are watching swaths of industry slit their own throats because they can save 17% on payroll this quarter. It is part tragedy, part poetic justice watching the biggest dickheads on earth architect their own irrelevance.
@danirabbit It is just one more thing to battle through in order to speak to a human. Have any kind of automated systems ever been able to solve the customer's problem, or do they just cause the customer to give up before they get to a human?
@danirabbit I won't even be your customer, that's how much I hate it
"Oh but I'm just a smol business and you should support small businesses"
You aren't willing to support human artists, which are also small businesses. Instead you choose to use the corporate plagiarism pollution slop machines. Fuck off, hypocrite.
@danirabbit I cease to be their customer once I find they're using AI.
Choke, wither, and die, sloppers.
@danirabbit Me today calling my bank..
