A sheriff says at least five people are dead after an Amazon cargo plane barreled off a Miami airport runway and smashed into cars. The plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday. Flights were paused at the busy travel hub. Plumes of black smoke poured from the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft was heading into Florida from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Videos and images showed the plane stopped beyond the airport runway as smoke billowed into the air. The Prime Air plane came to rest at the northwest end of the airport.
