It's often tempting to join one of those "tough guy" gyms with the wooden sign and the questionable smoothies, but it also means dealing with "the locals" ... you need to earn your place and with tough customers like these you may ask "is it worth it?"
One easy way to impress a crew like this is to just tell them that you've "caught the red dot" then show them a laser pointer in a box and quickly close it.
Instant respect.
