@neil @libreoffice It does make interesting reading, and sad at the same time, you would think that commercial/Public body users would make more of a contribution.
Maybe OfficeLibre should consider adopting a funding model similar to DxO. I moved from Adobe Lightroom to DxO and have never looked back, not only is it a superior product, in my opinion. I am not faced with increasing annual costs or pushing advertising/demand to upgrade. I only face a fee if I upgrade to the next version. If I choose not to upgrade, then I can keep using my current version free of any fees.
The DxO forum offer great technical and basic user support with additional technical help from the DxO team if needed.
I have just moved to OfficeLibre, I wish I had moved over a long time ago. I would gladly have paid a nominal fee for the version I downloaded. I find LibreOffice preferable to Microsoft Office, and the move did not involve any sharp learning curve.

Not ideal for those who cannot afford the upgrade, especially with regional variations in what is affordable :(
@neil @libreoffice I am amazed they have only 18 employees!!! They are *tiny* by comparison with Mozilla or Wikimedia...
Private funding vs. corporate capture is a tough one to resolve.. perhaps keeping corporate interests at arms length through support agreements with 3rd parties is best?
@neil @libreoffice Very disappointing that more commercial orgs don't fund it. Although I guess it means it's hard to accuse it of capture.
