Concerning Nazi Musk's cease and desist against public Nitter instances such as Xcancel:
Musk can eat shit and choke on it. I for one cannot imagine any circumstance under which I would make an account on Twitter. More broadly, before I would allow ID/age verification, ads or trackers into my life, I would use a hosts.allow file to whitelist sites I know do not use ads and block ALL of the rest of the Internet.
Never will you find me on the "verified" part of the Internet. Not now, not ever, no matter what happens. If customer support for a product is on Twitter, I will treat it as a cash and carry product for which there is no warranty and no customer service. Same as if I bought it on the street.
We also need to ensure the rest of our community gets the hell off of Twitter same for monitor accounts whose sole purpose is to get intel for a boycott of Twitter's advertisers.
I am soooo glad I don't have an account. I don't even know what their current UI looks like, same as "snitchbook."
Probably Nitter will be forked and new instances set up in countries that do not care about US "intellectual property" law. This would be a good opportunity for Canada to take a swing at Trump and Musk's US for instance. The Canadian government could set up a Nitter instance and dare anyone to stop them.
Oh and Elon? As long as you keep deadnaming your trans daughter, I will keep deadnaming your website.
