While you're being told to recycle more & use paper straws to save the #planet the world’s richest 0.01% are wrecking it not only through their lavish lifestyles but also their ownership-based #emissions.
A new Greenpeace Africa report found that the world’s richest 0.01% are associated with about US$992 billion worth of climate damage in 2022 alone through ownership-based emissions. These are emissions linked to the companies, investments and assets wealthy people own and profit from.

One way or another the global economies resource intensity is going to collapse. The decline and collapse of resources is already here.
The question is not electrification, if you think electrification is going to swap out fossil resources and we will live like we are now.
Communities have to face the reality that the global economy will not be around in a couple of decades and maybe sooner.

i dont care about straws but i an sure not flying since 4 years makes a difference - and if hundreds of millions of people would do it - despise they could afford it - it would definitely make a difference.
And it would (ideally with other refusals to constantly buy shit) also draw funds from some billionaires so they can buy less private jets
Meanwhile ordinary people are left to deal with floods, heatwaves and rising costs that keep getting worse.
The planet is overheating and the wrong people are getting the bill.
Enough is enough. Governments must act to ensure that those most responsible pay their fair share for the damage they have caused.
