I'm not 100% sure, but I think I just saw a raccoon or raccoon dog sort of running away from some hedges near my home.
Important detail: raccoons nor raccoon dogs are native to The Netherlands. Huh?
Apparently raccoons & raccoon dogs have reached The Netherlands. In some parts of the country raccoons are becoming a nuisance already. Notified our municipality just in case. A bit baffled about this.

I recall reading somewhere that some fucking genius released raccoons in Europe. This is not 'a good thing' because they are intelligent and extremely adaptable. They can open a lidded trash can (bin) for discarded food and will scatter your garbage while digging through it. They also are known carriers of rabies.
