@simon_brooke Labor's shift in policy just reflects the desires of the British voters: To get rid of all the forigners and people with accents.
Not that anyone would actaully admit to being a racist, of course. This is Britain. We're not racist, we just don't trust... you know. Their type.
@Qybat I do not believe that at all. Yes, there are people with loud voices and lots of money who want those things. But I don't believe there are many of them.
Most people welcome refugees. Most people are grateful to be treated by folk from overseas when they're in hospital. Most people have a neighbour who isn't native born who forms an important part of their community.
It is Labour's job to lead, to say these things, to amplify the voices of welcome.
