Oh whoops laying off your engineers and replacing them with AI didn't work out? You lost all the goodwill of your remaining employees and the skill of the ones who left? Poor baby, who could have done this to you https://eshumarneedi.com/2026/07/03/zuckerberg-admits-metas-layoffs-were.html
@cwebber I sincerely do appreciate each and every fail of Mark Suckerberg - this lunatic should not have any impact and influence over people at all. He and his fellow TechBros are ruining society, they are digital parasites.
Accordingly, I have banned each and any Meta product or service from my life and home network - physically, by subjecting them to DNS-based blocking (Pi-hole).
I reseve the right to deny malicious enshittification and surveillance capitalism actors access to my life, whenever I encounter them. Every little counts.
@cwebber Less "move fast and break stuff", more "move fast and fuck yourself over".
It's always nice to hear about Zuck's misfortunes.
(Reason number 325 for not even remotely considering working for Facebook that time a recruiter coldmailed me was that it would diminish my enjoyment of hearing about them.)
@cwebber What is the point of Zuckerberg? He keeps dropping the ball, time after time. If I were an employee or shareholder if be very frustrated and worried right now.
@cwebber They did find a solution, though: try to do more of it
@cwebber
BBC finds more ‘bad news’ about Meta, Insta & Zuck: “Instagram has been running paid adverts promoting child sexual abuse material in India, a BBC Eye investigation has found.
The ads, seen by the BBC World Service, use terms including "rape video" and "child video" and link users to channels on the messaging app Telegram, where they can buy the material for as little as 99 rupees (about 80p).
“Hours after this investigation was published, the Indian government said it had summoned representatives of Instagram's parent company, Meta, over the adverts.
“Ads on Instagram are only published after first being approved by its moderation technology.
When the BBC reported one of the ads to Instagram, the social media platform responded 24 hours later saying the post did not violate its "community guidelines".”
@cwebber Lol. Here's the very real HR problem with Zuckerberg's Trump Jr stylings as a chaotic leader: Zuck permanently poisoned the hiring/rehiring pool. You now have an slightly higher than equal chance former, current, and new employees have been incentivized to booby-trap, time-bomb, sabotage, vendetta the engineering because Meta has proven it has no loyalty to its staff, and deserve none in return.
The most dangerous employee to an organization is the "nicest" one who knows the org CANNOT be trusted -- you'll never see the damage coming. It's why HR typically has security wipe your access, and watch you get your stuff, and escort you out when terminated. HR knows the threat can happen.
These white boy geniuses are too smug to realize the risk they chaotically created, and can anticipate what's going to hit their business empires as they are derailed from inside their own houses. They equate wealth with intelligence and leadership - it's not. FAFO.
@cwebber Whatever he might say, ZUCK SUCKZ
@cwebber “The most pertinent example of the former is the ill-fated metaverse, which was developed solely on the (unbelievable) whim that the pandemic would last forever — or at least far longer than it actually did — and people would become accustomed to replacing in-person interaction with virtual reality””…”
It was nuts to think people would prefer to put on an expensive headset to have cartoon versions of their heads & torsos interact with other cartoons instead of just opening Zoom.
@cwebber Zuckerberg isn't trying to find new products, he is trying to convince investors that he is finding new products so he can sell stock and make money without needing to make a profit.
@cwebber Meta cancer became Metastasis.
I failed the test twice and decided to just give up.
