Most distros rely on upstream software you only need a load of those upstreams to decide to use AI and then your faced with a choice of don't include the package or find an alternative.
For some stuff that will be possible for other stuff less so.

LLMs are a tool. And if people are NOT being responsible for their tools, then its a person problem.
Blaming a large vector array is pretty dumb, tbh.
@Em0nM4stodon sadly even i they do you will see code sneak in it obfuscated, because some ai tool even exist to try to hide AI "personality".
@Em0nM4stodon I can't believe that the linux kernel is allowing code in whose actual underlying license is completely unknowable and random.

antiX will do its best to avoid ai inclusions.
Discussions are ongoing on what might be acceptable, for example some usage in translations with human checks following. Deepl being one such translation engine that works well with a limited number of languages.

@Em0nM4stodon i know alpine has a no ai policy for the things that are alpine-specific (apk and all that powers it). I think they concluded it would be impractical to ban all vibe-coded software from package repos because of how many existing packages that would leave unmaintained

@aleteoryx @Em0nM4stodon I'd still like to see a policy about allowing AI slop as updates to packages that were previously non-slop and where updates are unnecessary. Basically a "no AI regressions" policy.

I'm waiting to see how it shakes out, but I expect to be disappointed by the results, and prefer other distros with more spine.
