Really enjoyed speaking alongside a couple other activists to an audience of engaged, creative and outspoken rangatahi on today's Climate Action workshop.
The kids are alright, now if we could only move the #fossilFools dinosaurs out of the way and let the young ones do their thing.... 馃
Gerontocracy getting in the way of progress.
@futuresprog @pezmico is there any way we could get our hands on some of that funding to pay for the Urban Arrow cargo bike we are testing?
Are there any green loan schemes out there to help families like us decarbonise more quickly?
@SimonCHulse @futuresprog not this though. This is part of Auckland Council's Climate fund, intended to develop young climate leaders.
But there might be something similar where you live?
They (aged 14-20) all came with ideas to develop and are getting a grand total of 18 thousand dollars to make their projects a reality.
You would honestly DREAM of seeing anything close to this level of resourcefulness, commitment, ingenuity and, frankly, sheer excitement anywhere in the halls of power.
