Now they're fast tracking the fast track to bypass even their own weakened process.
That alone should give you a clue of how utterly shit this LNG idea is.
They pulled the bar to the floor and they know that is still not low enough for this lunacy to clear it.

Just like the "Tax cuts" in the previous election, the media's unquestioning coverage of an LNG terminal as "saving millions of dollars" is irresponsible at best.
How is it cheaper to depend on LNG than renewable local energy? What is your source? Have you checked? Do any independent experts support this view?
Media fails us by carrying this narrative without questioning it.
Let's build our energy system around a brittle supply chain where we are the last link, requires complex refrigeration and transport of a toxic substance around the entire planet while dealing with unstable geopolitics and still pollute at least as much as coal. Liquefied natural gas.
Because the sun and the wind are too unreliable and expensive.
Apparently that makes sense.

Why, oh why, are we under the thumb of absolute #FossilFools?
We could have energy independence with cheap offshore wind and solar power. We could phase out fossil fuels and transition to a carbon free economy.
But not with these crapitalist bootlickers in charge.
This is tying us to expensive imports of dirty fossils, subsidising war and sacrificing independence.
