I managed to tell another 40 odd people yesterday about the importance of peatland and why they shouldn’t buy compost unless it says peat free on it.
They also got some sphagnum moss* to take home in a jar to grow their own peat bog (over the next 500 years).
*sphagnum was responsibly sourced, grown in my garden from a small batch of dried sphagnum moss for hanging baskets bought c. 15 years ago.

The #RisingTide group in #Canberra organises social events, Discobedience dance, choir, NVDA actions, film nights, trivia nights, and a big group who’ve blockaded the #Newcastle coal port for a weekend in November each year for the past 3 years.
I appreciated this advice to allies and other non Indigenous people ahead of Monday, shared by the Indigenous-Aboriginal Party of Australia mailing list (original author Marnie Davis of Women Up North Housing):
“Acknowledge the weight of this time – Invasion Day can be deeply triggering and painful.
Listen more than you speak – avoid debates, justifications or minimising experiences.
Offer flexibility to allow space
Check in respectfully
Do not expect education – this is not a time to ask Aboriginal people to explain or teach.

A quick look at the "Electricity Sector in India" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electricity_sector_in_India ) shows that the absolute amount of electricity generated by Natural Gas in India has dropped from 93TWh in 2011-12, to 56.6TWh in 24-25.
At the same time, *just* Solar has gone from 4.6TWh in 2014-15 (the first year with separate numbers) to 144TWh in 24-25? Renewables in total including traditional Hydro have gone from 181-403TWh.
Who is BC actually selling LNG to?
