Happy to see that berlin.social has gone above and beyond what is required by German law to suspend an anonymous and antisemitic Zionist account (@hydra4455@berlin.social) that was engaged in harassing people voicing their opposition to Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people on the fediverse.
This account is just one of many following the same tactic of replying to posts with Zionist memes before blocking the original poster (so they can’t reply, etc.) and then unblocking them later so they can continue their harassment. (Rinse, repeat.) They will, no doubt, create new accounts on different servers. Please be vigilant and report + block on sight.

@aral the account has now been limited on the main instance and suspended, among the others, by mas.to, fosstodon, hachyderm and kolektiva.
It’s however still active on berlin.social.
The complicity of some German instances in genocide denialism starts to be extremely disturbing.
@cepharum I guess that you have received dozens of reports about this account, and other large instances (including the main one) have already proceeded to limit it or suspend it in order to protect their users.
This account is with very high confidence a clone of the accounts that I have already reported here https://manganiello.eu/@fabio/posts/B3LMkqCqoOHaWoJJRY.
Same techniques, same memes shared from this propaganda page https://www.instagram.com/movement_against_antizionism/, same strategy already seen in the past (once they’re suspended by enough instances they simply create another account on another German instance to keep harassing people).
We’re not talking of legitimate opinions here, we’re talking of literal Hasbara propaganda accounts whose job is to silence all criticism of Israel on social media and incite serial harassment against those who support Palestinians.
They don’t engage, they don’t add value to the discussion, they only respond with propaganda memes.
Are you ok with this? Or shall we call Fediblock?
Perhaps you haven't noticed, but the incriminated account does no longer exist.

@LukefromDC @fabio @aral We are closely monitoring the account and moderating its posts based on German law as we are required to do. This does not exclude an eventual blocking of the account, but we are not there, yet.
@cepharum @LukefromDC @fabio Do you have a set of moral or ethnical guidelines for your server beyond German law?
Asking as it likely has implications for inclusion in Mastodon’s upcoming recommended servers initiative (CC @haubles) as I’m assuming a server that allows the antisemitic conflation of Zionism with all Jews and the harassment and libel of people who oppose genocide with bot-like behaviour that includes replying to threads and then blocking the original author would not be allowed.
Remember that legal does not mean moral or ethical. Slavery was legal in the US. The Holocaust was legal in Nazi Germany.
@aral @LukefromDC @fabio @haubles Our guidelines are not beyond German law, but in line with it as the German law is anything but alike the law of Nazi Germany as you try to imply.

You claim the laws are 'anything but alike,' yet Germany’s current role as a major arms supplier to a genocide shows that in practice, the state's (and your, for that matter) legal and ethical bar for protecting humanity hasn't shifted as much as you'd like to believe.

And Germany is the second largest arms dealer to Israel and thus complicit in Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. So apologies if I don’t have too much trust in it protecting the interests of genocide victims today.

@aral That is a good warning. I once discovered an openly pedophilic account and reported it to their instance, only to later realize that their entire instance including its admin are pedophiles.
